Adam Baran is a composer, music producer and sound artist based in Warsaw, Poland. He plays guitar and lap steel.

He creates music as one half of the songwriting duo Pola Chobot & Adam Baran, leads experimental jazz group Helicopets and produces his solo guitar recordings.
 In his twenties, he received a jazz education and graduated from the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław and the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice. At that time, improvised music became his primary focus.

Adam is a versatile musician comfortable across genres. He has worked as a sideman guitarist with a wide range of artists, including Michał Urbaniak, alternative bands Kamp!Patrick the Pan, Swiernalis, as well as leading Polish pop artists:Alicja Szemplińska, Jann, Beata KozidrakMela Koteluk. In 2026, he performed lap steel guitar with the Polish Radio Orchestra in the project: „Wayne’s session for Miles and Lee”, featuring Ambrose Akinmusire, Dayna Stephens and Mike Moreno.

His work with Pola Chobot include albums: Jak wyjść z domu, gdy na świecie mży?,  Burza,  Trzeba mi and Po burzy. These records have earned numerous awards and nominations from critics and music press in Poland (Emocje Radia Wrocław, O!lśnienia Onetu, Warto Gazety Wyborczej). The albums features guest appearances of Kathia, Panilas, Ofelia and Roman Puchowski. Over the years, the duo has developed a distinctive, spacious and melancholic sound built around expressive guitar riffs and the poetic nature of the lyrics. They are regarded as one of the most significant voices in the contemporary Polish alternative scene. 

The most recent, fifth album in his discography, recorded with his Polish-Norwegian group
Helicopets was released in April 2026 and is titled Helicopeter. The record draws on elements of avant-garde jazz, ambient, electronic music, and minimalism.

Adam performs regularly across Europe at venues and festivals such as Sziget Festival, Off Festival, Victoria Nasjonal Jazzstage Oslo, NOSPR Katowice, JazzFest Brno, Jazz Juniors, Bielska Zadymka in Cavatina Hall, Opus Jazz Club (Budapest), Męskie Granie. As a sideman, he has also toured Canada and the United States.
